Making the most of marketing membership?

Fully qualified as a marketing professional – what next?

You’ve done the time. We know it’s hard work achieving the Chartered Institute of Marketing certificate or diploma. You’ve probably been studying as well as keeping the day job going, whether as marketing assistant or marketing manager. Now you’ve got CIM after your name and The Marketer magazine regularly lands on your doorstep. To make even more of being a member – get out and about at the CIM’s local events. A chance to hear expert views on new marketing skills and get ideas for new marketing roles and career progress.

Bristol CIM conference opportunity

We spotted a significant event on the South West CIM calendar. The South West Charity Marketing Conference takes place in Bristol on 16th October. This is a full day with experts in many disciplines, for those working in charities – or seriously thinking about it.

Cheltenham and Gloucestershire has many growing charities all involved in creative marketing campaigns. Winston’s Wish grows nationally still with its HQ in Cheltenham. Well Child is another national charity with its headquarters and marketing team in Cheltenham. New organisations such as Maggie’s set up a Cheltenham centre just a few years ago. This has already  made a real impact on the local fundraising community. Other names such as The National Star Centre and Sue Ryder campaign regularly.

The South West Charity Marketing conference offers a day of insights into skills:

These include:

  • Customer/stakeholder engagement
  • Customer experience management
  • Communications strategies
  • Social media
  • Crisis communications

Tickets are available now for non-members with reduced prices for CIM members and CIM students. Take advantage of your membership for this and many other events are on your South West doorstep. We’ll keep you posted.
