Business Development Manager

Salary: £25,000—35,000. Location: Stroud, Gloucestershire (Permanent). Reference BBBH1308

Our Stroud based client is seeking an ambitious and target driven National Sales Executive / Business Development Manager to support the development of new business within the education sector. The role offers a salary of £25 – 35K (dependent on experience) and will involve regular travel across the UK.

With the main purpose of the role being the development of new leads and management of existing business to maximize sales and profit, the key responsibilities will include the effective development of relationships with contract caterers as well as delivering new business within the further and higher education markets whilst keeping in line with agreed targets. This will involve arranging regular client visits to build and maintain relationships and develop new leads, supporting promotional activities with customers as well as attending relevant industry exhibitions and conferences. The role also will require effective monitoring and reporting of sales performance as well as feedback from the customers to enable new product development in line with customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
*Good literacy, numeracy (comfortable with data analysis and statistics) and IT skills (MS Office)
*Experience in a sales environment working remotely from Head office.
*Outstanding communication and negotiation skills at all levels.
*Demonstrate tenacity and the ability to propose solutions to problems.
*Excellent organisational skills
*Able to handle pressure and work to tight deadlines

We’ll be looking for someone who is ambitious with a hunger to achieve and surpass set targets. You’ll need to be a self-starter with a can do attitude, motivated and passionate to develop your career in sales. You should be a skilled relationship builder in order to establish and maintain trusting relationships both internally and externally and willing and able to embrace change. Interest in or experience of working within the food and/or education industries would be beneficial.
